Why we are building CRP
Billions of dollars move through jail and prison commerce every year. The people inside, and the families paying, get nothing back. We think that should change, and that the change can pay for itself.
CRP, the Commissary Rebate Program, is a project of AI Venture Holdings LLC, based in Utah. It started from a simple question: if the value of a commission can go to a facility, why can’t it go to the person?
Our research found no company, nonprofit or pilot in the United States that returns a share of prison spend to incarcerated people. We are building that rail: a rewards and savings layer that works with existing vendors, protects value from garnishment where the law allows, and publishes its audits.
CRP is in its pilot-design phase. We are talking with reform-minded county jails, state corrections departments, licensed financial partners and reentry funders. We do not hold or move money, and we will not until licensed partners and counsel are in place.
