Commissary
The store inside a jail or prison where incarcerated people buy food, hygiene items and supplies.
Commissary is the in-facility store. People buy food to supplement meals, hygiene products, stamps, writing supplies, over-the-counter medicine and clothing. Purchases are paid from the person's trust account, which is mostly funded by family deposits and very low prison wages.
Commissary is usually run by a private vendor under contract with the agency. Prices often include a markup, and the facility frequently receives a commission on sales.
