Matched savings
A savings program where a funder adds money for every dollar saved.
In a matched savings program, each dollar a participant saves is matched by a funder, often at 1:1 or better. Individual Development Accounts are a common example.
CRP's pooled reentry account can combine rebates, wages, family deposits and a philanthropic match. No study yet tests matched savings built during incarceration, which is the evaluation CRP proposes to funders.
