Garnishment
Taking money from a person's account to pay a debt they owe.
In corrections, garnishment usually means automatic deductions from a trust account for restitution, court-ordered fines and fees, child support, medical copays or cost-of-incarceration charges.
A rebate that lands in a garnishable account may never reach the person. CRP uses a destination rules engine by jurisdiction so value goes where it can be protected: closed-loop store credit or a release savings sub-account.
