RCW 72.09.111
The Washington law that sets deductions from incarcerated people's funds, including a savings account released at discharge.
RCW 72.09.111 governs how the Washington State Department of Corrections deducts from wages and outside deposits. Among the required deductions is a contribution to a personal savings account that is paid to the person at release.
Because the savings rail already exists in statute, Washington is a natural early jurisdiction for CRP. Rebates can flow into an account the law already protects.
